Bron Powerbox 900 Battery System
By Shutterbug Staff
April 18, 2008 Visatec USA has introduced the Powerbox 900 battery solution for powering strobes
on location. The Powerbox 900 is a sine wave inverter based battery with a standard
Edison connector. This allows you to plug in any single strobe up to 900 watt
seconds, or with a standard power strip you can plug in any amount of strobes
that add up to 900 watt seconds, such as three Visatec Solo 800B’s (300
ws each).
With a 300 ws strobe you can expect approximately 210 flashes at full power
and 800+ flashes at the minimum power setting. At the maximum 900 ws output
you can expect approximately 100 flashes at full power. When working with the
modeling light, the amount of flashes is reduced accordingly.
The Powerbox 900 can be charged with the included charging unit. A green LED
lets you know when the Powerbox is at full charge. Approximate charging time
is 3 hours.
