New V-Pod Pocket-Sized, Portable Media Player

January 25, 2006 Amax Inc. has announced the release of a versatile, pocket-sized digital media
player that uses SD memory cards and built-in memory to store and play back
thousands of songs or digital photos. The new ultra-lightweight, ultra-compact
MediaMini V-Pod is available in two models, each equipped with 128 MB of built-in
flash RAM, accepting SD cards up to 4 GB in size, as well as MMC cards up to
256 MB.

The units feature TFT color displays with adjustable brightness, and range
in size from 3.6 inches for the MediaMini 360 to 2.5 inches for the smaller
MediaMini 250. File formats recognized by the V-Pods include: Audio—mp3,
wma, wav; Video—mpeg4, divx3, divx4, divx5, xvid5, asf, avi; Photo—jpg.
Suggested retail prices are $199 for the MediaMini 250 with 128 MB of built-in
memory, and $249 for the MediaMini 360 with 128 MB of built-in memory. Both
models feature an attractive, durable stainless steel metal casing, rechargeable
