In what’s become an
annual announcement for us, we’re happy to pass on news of the
Hasselblad Austrian Super Circuit 2000, this year’s edition of
the world’s largest salon of photography. The salon’s organizers
and sponsors are looking for the world’s best photography, and
you’re invited to participate in the event.
Hasselblad’s name denotes
sponsorship, not a requirement—no matter the camera used, the
photo is welcome. There are no restrictions on subject, style, or theme.
This year a special section for panorama photography has been added
to the nature and wildlife, travel, and experimental photography sections.
The winner of the panorama section will be awarded a Hasselblad XPan
camera.
In 1999 the Hasselblad Austrian Super Circuit attracted more than 37,000
entries (a few of which are shown here) from amateur and professional
photographers from 118 countries. We’d like to think that Shutterbug’s
publicity of the ’99 contest helped attract US and Canadian entries,
among which were several prize winners, including the winner of the
Photographic World Federation Gold Medal.
In addition to cash prizes and a Hasselblad 503 CW for the top winner,
a selection of the best work will be included in a worldwide exhibition.
A 200-page catalog displaying 350 of the very best entries will be sent
to every entrant.
Included on the panel of judges for the 2000 contest will be Shutterbug
editor Bob Shell.
Deadline for entries is August, 21, 2000. For complete information and
an entry form, write to: Hasselblad Austrian Super Circuit, Postfach
364, A-4010, Linz, Austria; or fax your request to 011-43-732-604030-13;
or you can send an e-mail message to: austriansupercircuit@netway.at.
