I used to live about an hour away from Washington DC and so a sunrise visit was always a bit of a gamble - what will the sun actually do? On this occasion, I was aiming to get some reflections in the newly updated reflecting pool and the weather and clouds gave me a beautiful show. I wanted to get a good frame and the columns of the Lincoln Memorial provided that perfect lead into the shot.
Canon 5D Mk III with 24-105mm F4 lens set to 55mm. ISO 200 F18 to get the depth of field needed.
