Havasu Falls is in a deep canyon leading to the Colorado River. Located on Havasupai Tribal lands, it is reached after a 12 mile hike. Travertine formations at the falls are created from minerals in the water; over time the water droplets have precipitated away leaving these intricate formations. Minerals in the water give it that aquamarine, milky appearance.
