The old historic Blue Swallow Motel in Tucumcari, New Mexico on old Route 66 has been restored to original condition and is a flash back from the 50s and 60s. It is a photographic wonder with all the colors of the rainbow represented in its 50s style neon signs. A delightful place to stay and very affordable, but you had better call way ahead if you want to experience the past. In the middle of the day it's nice, but when the sun goes down you will want to stand outside and just soak in all that neon and it's glory. Eye candy to a photographer for sure.
